Nicole Flockton Interview

Hi Erin! Thanks so much for having me on your blog. I’m so excited to visit you.

What made you decide to write a series about the Rio Olympics in particular?

It might have been a passing comment on a Facebook post but I thought ‘hey I should totally write a book with Olympic Athletes. That would be fun.’ Of course, the idea hit about 2 months prior to the start of the games so it called for some serious word count days.

How many total books do you plan to write for this series?

Well the plan was to do two stories – Mitch and Julia’s (Fighting to Win) and Drake and Tamara’s (Fighting to Dream). But then when I was writing Fighting to Win, Brooke popped up and said she was involved with an Aussie swimmer and well, you know I had to write that story, being an Aussie and all. Then I worked out that bad boy Brett from the first book needed his story told. So it’s going to be four books now. The first two take place during the games, but the final two take place after the games.

Thus far, which couple has been your favorite to write?

Hmm that’s a tough one. I think I’m looking forward to writing Brett’s story. It’s going to be a challenge. But I did enjoy writing Tamara and Drake’s story-they were a fun couple.

If your characters could speak, how do you think they’d feel about the way you’ve told their story?

Haha, well I hope they’re happy with the way I told their stories. I think Dane would definitely say that he would never do a belly flop 😉

What is your personal favorite book to curl up with?

Honestly, a good romance. I love a book where I can forget everything and get swept up with a couple and go through everything with them.

What upcoming projects can your readers look forward to?

Well I will be working on the 4th book in this series. And I do have a release coming on February 21st. I can’t say too much about it as yet until there’s an official reveal of the covers. But I’m excited to be part of this world and can’t wait for everyone to read it. I’ve also got lots of ideas I want to work on. So every day has to be a writing day.

Thanks so much for having me, I loved answering your questions.
